Make Sunday Non-Negotiable!

"C'MON, LET'S GO!"
"GRAB YOUR BACKPACK!"
"WHY ARE YOU ONLY WEARING ONE SHOE?!"

These are just a few of the phrases you'll hear in our house as Alexis and I get five kids ready for school.

This time of year has a rhythm all its own. The slower pace of summer gives way to packed calendars, sports practices, homework, work schedules... and before you know it, Christmas decorations are somehow already in the stores.

Life gets full quickly.

As we step back into some familiar chaotic rhythms, let's be intentional about stepping into one peaceful one.

David wrote,

"One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life..." (Psalm 27:4)

Out of everything David could have asked for, he chose God's presence. In the middle of all the responsibilities and distractions of life, he knew what mattered most.

So here's my challenge as we head into this new season:

make Sunday non-negotiable.

Not because God needs your attendance, but because you need His presence. Your kids need to see what it looks like to prioritize Jesus. Your family needs moments to slow down, worship together, and be reminded of what life is really about.

There will always be another practice, another birthday party, another project around the house. But gathering with God's people has a way of re-centering our hearts before another busy week begins.

If we could help every family at New Hope Leeward build just one rhythm this fall, it would be this one.

I can't wait to worship with you this Sunday.

Love you church,
